Three Sent to Hospital Following Two Car Crash in Stoughton

Two cars collided at the intersection of Canton Street and School Street in Stoughton this past Thursday morning, sending three to the hospital with minor, non-life threatening injuries, Lt. Buddy O'Neil of the Stoughton Fire Department said.

Chlorine Leak Shuts Down Pratts Court Water Treatment Plant


During a routine inspection of the Pratts Court Water Treatment Plant on Pratts Court in Stoughton this past Wednesday morning, DPW employees discovered a chlorine leak in the building, DPW Superintendent John Batchelder said.

A State Hazmat team was on site Wednesday morning as a result, as were the Stoughton Fire Department and the Stoughton DPW.

Fire Extinguishing System Malfunctions at Gas Station in Stoughton, Releasing Chemical Agent

A gas station's fire extinguishing system apparently malfunctioned this past Wednesday morning in Stoughton, releasing a dry chemical agent on the property, according to Captain Jim Bertram of the Stoughton Fire Department.

The incident took place just before 10 a.m. on August 7 at Stoughton Gas/Hawies Market on Washington St., located in between Cheng Du and Dave and Vinny's Barber Shop, covering the ground and cars at the gas station (which also has a small market, sells cars and does auto repairs) in a white powdery looking substance.
