Candidates Vying for Selectmen, School Committee Seats in Tuesday Election

Challengers and incumbents are eyeing seats on the Stoughton Board of Selectmen and the Stoughton School Committee.

The annual town election in Stoughton is set for next Tuesday, April 8, with candidates eyeing seats in two contested races. 

Three candidates are running for two open seats on the Stoughton Board of Selectmen: Challengers David Sousa and Joe Mokrisky are running against incumbent John M. Anzivino, currently the board's chair.

Several candidates are also running a contested race for the Stoughton School Committee, on which two seats are currently open.

Incumbents George Dolinsky and Deborah Sovinee are running for re-election against challengers Randy Yanoff, Joaquin Soares, Jr. and Mari-Kate Pina-Enokian. 

Stoughton Town Clerk Amy Summers said on Thursday she anticipates a voter turnout of about 15 percent.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
