After Woman Stops Breathing, Stoughton Police and Fire Team Up to Save Her Life

Teamwork between the Stoughton Police and Fire Departments helped to save one woman's life last Friday.

Stoughton Police and Fire responded to a home on Joyce Dr. shortly after 10:15 p.m. on August 16, finding an unresponsive 49-year-old female, according to a post on the Stoughton Police Department's Facebook page.

Officers Joe DeSousa, Shawn Faria, Heather Cheever and Tom Covino "found the woman not breathing and without a pulse. They quickly began life saving CPR," according to the post.

They were soon joined on scene by Lt. Brad Newbury and firefighters Mike Schifone, Ryan Cabral, Peter Denneno and Justin Goldberg, who then "took over the life saving efforts," according to the SPD.

"Due to the early intervention of the Officers and the expert care from the Stoughton Fire Department, the female began to breathe on her own and regained a pulse," the post states.

"This was a job truly well done by all involved and reminds us of how well our departments interact and work with one another," the post concludes.
