The restaurant, serving breakfast and lunch, may be relocating from its current location on Route 138 to a spot further down the road, within the Planet Fitness Plaza in Stoughton.
One of Stoughton's favorite breakfast and lunch establishments may be on the move, but won't be going far, and will still remain in Stoughton. At the May 1, 2012 Stoughton Board of Selectmen's meeting, members of the Board discussed receiving a letter from the ownership at Zachary's about looking into transferring its common victualler license. Currently located at 945 Washington St., at the corner of Brock St., the letter indicated Zachary's may be looking to move about 1.5 miles down Route 138 to 1778 Washington St., to a space within the Planet Fitness Plaza. Zachary's owner Joe McGovern said the potential move was a "definite maybe." McGovern, who has owned Zachary's for 10 years, said the restaurant has been at its current location …

NEARLY 300 SENIORS FEAST FOR THREE DOLLARS! Stoughton's Friends for Seniors held their 2012 Annual Spring Dinner on Saturday, May 19, in the basement hall at the Immaculate Conception Church. Father Joseph McDermott did the opening prayer, and from there it was Mike Sammarco and his famous Sons of Italy/Babe Ruth cooking crew that took over. Everyone got chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes and a roll - and cake for dessert. Seniors paid only $3 for tickets! Starline Academy Musical Theatre and Drama Teens will present selections from A Chorus Line, Fame, Footloose and Sleeping Beauty.

Patriots-Police Basketball Game The Stoughton Police All-Stars take on the New England Patriots All Pro Celebrity basketball team at the Stoughton High gym Friday night, May 18, at 7. It's a fundraiser for the Stoughton Police Relief Association. Donations will be accepted at the door. Jane (Szum) Tremblay, principal of the Summer Street Elementary School in Lynnfield, was named the 2012 recipient of the Thomas C. Passios award, which goes to the Massachusetts Elementary School Principal of the year. Tremblay, a Stoughton native, was honored at a ceremony on May 2 in Hyannis. Tremblay will travel to Washington D.C. later this year where she will meet the U.S. Secretary of Education. She will also be among those in the running for national principal of the year, Lynnfield Patch reports. Cedar Hill Golf Course is the winner of this week's "Best Of" poll.
After a week of voting, Stoughton Patch readers have indicated their favorite outdoor destination in town includes a day hitting the links. Cedar Hill Golf Course, a town-owned club, was the top choice in this week's poll, which asked readers to select their favorite outdoor destination in Stoughton. This poll continued a “Best Of” series that allows readers to vote for their favorite businesses and places in Stoughton. Cedar Hill, located on Park St., finished in first with 40 percent of the vote. Ames Pond came in second with 20 percent of the vote. While the amount of rainfall has increased as of late, after a winter and spring with little precipitation, the Town of Stoughton is preparing for the possibility of a long, hot summer, and with it, the possibility of a drought. As a result, Selectmen on May 1 unanimously voted to approve a Drought Management Plan, initiating Phase 1, which is a “voluntary watering ban," asking residents to minimize the use of outdoor water. The Stoughton Department of Public Works released the Drought Management Plan in full. It is posted below. Again, only Phase I, a voluntary ban, is in effect. IN SEARCH OF THE HOLY GRAIL: 128 Town Meeting members convened Wednesday night, May 9, at Stoughton High School's Auditorium. It began with an honor to Dr. Roberta Camacho (for over 25 years on the Redevelopment Authority.) Newest SRA member and new Chairman Carlos Vargas read a proclamation from the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Then, the TM body dove headfirst into the FY 2013 budget. The most contentious moments concerned the Planning Board and Police budgets. A motion was made by Interim Town Manager Joseph D.
