Severe Thunderstorm Watch For Stoughton

Severe storms are predicted after 3 p.m., with frequent lightning, heavy downpours, large hail and damaging winds, according to the National Weather Service.

UPDATED: 2:30 p.m. The National Weather Service now says storms may roll through Stoughton as early as 3 p.m. There may be some localized street flooding during these storms, as heavy downpours are expected. WHDH-TV, Channel 7 reports that a severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for all of Eastern Massachusetts until 8 p.m. on July 24. *** While it is a beautiful sunny day at 2 p.m. with blue skies, the National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the eastern part of Massachusetts. Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued for Stoughton Area

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for the entire state of Massachusetts until 9 p.m. on July 18.

The National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Stoughton and Norfolk County until 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 18. In fact, the Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for the entire state of Massachusetts. The AccuWeather website predicts Stoughton could see thunderstorms around 4 p.m. and again around 7 p.m. Stoughton Fire Chief Mark Dolloff passed along the following statement from the National Weather Service: Severe Thunderstorms likely this afternoon into this evening across portions of Southern New England, Thunderstorms will begin to develop across Southern New England between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., then become more numerous as the afternoon progresses.
