OA defeated Stoughton 9-0 Wednesday night at the Asiaf Arena.
After a tie and a win in its last two games, the Stoughton High hockey team ran into tough Davenport Division foe Oliver Ames Wednesday night, losing to the Tigers at the Asiaf Arena in Brockton. The Tigers scored more goals than they had in a game all season to beat the Black Knights, 9-0. With the win, Oliver Ames improved to 6-4-1. Stoughton dropped to 1-9-2. While OA came away with the 9-point victory, it had trouble finding the net in the early minutes. The Oliver Ames hockey team scored four third period goals beating Stoughton 7-0 on Saturday.
Leading 3-0 heading into the final period, the Oliver Ames Hockey team tripled its lead in the first five minutes of the third, beating Stoughton for the second time this season. The Tigers went on to score their last goal in the final minute of play, handing the Black Knights a 7-0 loss Saturday at the Asiaf Arena in Brockton. OA improves to 9-3-3, while Stoughton falls to 1-13-1. Oliver Ames held a 1-0 advantage after the first period, with Alex Weibeler scoring the goal. Weibeler led the Tigers with 2 goals and 2 assists on Saturday. Derek Johnson and Dylan Burns scored the two second period goals. The Tigers recorded a 5-0 victory over the Black Knights Wednesday evening. Sean Kyne led OA with two goals, while P.J. Sheehan made 62 saves in goal for Stoughton.
The Stoughton High hockey team fell 5-0 to Oliver Ames at the Asiaf Arena in Brockton Wednesday evening in a Davenport Division contest. Oliver Ames held a 1-0 advantage after the first period and added to their lead, scoring a pair of goals in both the second and third periods. The Tigers improve to 4-2 with the win, while Stoughton falls to 1-7. Sean Kyne led OA with two goals, while Justin Davidner recorded two assists. Kyle Hayes, Dylan Burns and Matt Carol scored the other goals. The play of goalie P.J. Sheehan was a bright spot for Stoughton.
