State Police Arrest Man in Stoughton After Highway Car Stop Turns up Firearm, Drugs

A Hyde Park man was arrested on gun and drug charges following a motor vehicle stop Sunday night on Route 24 in Stoughton.

The following is adapted from a Massachusetts State Police Press release: Massachusetts State Police arrested a man late Sunday night on gun and drug charges following a stop on Route 24 in Stoughton. At approximately 11:10 p.m. on March 24, State Police Trooper Kevin MacDermott was headed home from a paid detail on Route 24 southbound in Stoughton when he observed a vehicle with an invalid safety inspection sticker. Trooper MacDermott observed the vehicle move over into the far left lane and accelerate up to 90-95 mph before he was able to stop the vehicle in Stoughton. Stoughton Police Investigating a Pair of Armed Robberies Stoughton Police are investigating a pair of armed robberies which took place at Fairy Tales Formals and Rite Aid last week. Police received a call at 3:11 p.m. March 14 reporting a robbery at Fairy Tales Formals, located at 761 Washington St. in the downtown. Police say a man walked into the store and stated that he had a gun, stole a few hundred dollars in cash, and then fled on foot. The day before, March 13, Stoughton Police responded to a robbery at Rite Aid at 638 Washington St. in Shaw's Plaza just before 7 p.m., where a suspect with a knife stole an undisclosed amount of pills from behind the pharmacy, before getting away in a stolen vehicle. Stoughton Police Arrest Man For Possession of Crack Cocaine, Oxycodone

Stoughton Police arrested a 28-year-old Attleboro man for drug possession following a motor vehicle stop Tuesday in Stoughton.

An Attleboro man was arrested for drug possession Tuesday morning in Stoughton following a motor vehicle stop on Central St. Stoughton Police found crack cocaine, Oxycodone pills and marijuana after searching the vehicle, according to a release on the Department's Facebook page. As a result, Adam Guzman, 28, of Attleboro, was charged with two counts of possession of a class B substance and was cited for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. According to the release, Stoughton's newest police officer Daniel Carmichael ran the registration of a red Honda Accord and found it to be revoked. Canton Police arrested a Stoughton man as part of a drug bust, which also involved several Canton residents, early Friday morning, confiscating drugs and a gun after an investigation. "It was an ongoing drug investigation which culminated in a search warrant served about 6:00 a.m. on Friday morning," Canton Police Lt. Helena Findlen said. "We were able to get a gun, cocaine, heroin and some pills," Findlen said of the bust., which took place on Weathervane Road in Canton. On Friday, February 10, police arrested John R.
