Stoughton Selectmen Approve Licenses for Mediterranean and Thai Restaurants

Chicken Kebab, a Mediterranean/Turkish fast food style restaurant, and Rukmae, which will serve Thai cuisine, will both be located at different ends of Washington St. in Stoughton.

The Stoughton Board of Selectmen approved the common victualler licenses for a pair of new restaurants on Washington St. in Stoughton at their meeting Tuesday night - Chicken Kebab, a Mediterranean/Turkish fast food style restaurant, and Rukmae, which will serve Thai cuisine. Chicken Kebab, owned by Ali Aykurt, will be in the downtown at the former Kabob House location at 756 Washington St. Home to a handful of different restaurants in recent years, the Kabob House opened in the spring of 2010 but was forced to close when heavy snow collapsed the roof of the building next door back in January 2011, which subsequently caused damage to the Kabob House.
