As a result there will not be issues with the water in North Stoughton on Nov. 16/17 and there will be no traffic delays: This Friday, Nov. 16, Route 139 will be shut down between Page St. and Turnpike St. starting at 7 p.m. until some time on Saturday, Nov. 17. RESIDENTS TURN OUT FOR MASTER PLAN VISIONING: Over 100 residents came to contribute their thoughts on a vision for Stoughton's future Monday night when the Stoughton Master Plan Committee hosted a Public Forum at the Stoughton Senior Center. A light dinner was served and Joe Scardino, Chairman of the Master Plan Committee and the Planning Board, introduced Interim Town Manager Joseph D. Faster, Jr., and then Sue Brown hosted a review of the "Community Snapshot" (compiled by the Town's consultants, her company, Brown Walker Planners). The snapshot provided some very interesting information on our town. The crowd was divided into smaller groups for discussion. Stoughton Officials Meet to Discuss Short-Term, Long-Term Traffic Solutions for Hansen School Area

Shayla Lutz, 3, of Stoughton, died following a tragic accident on Sept. 14 when she was struck by a box truck in front of the Hansen School. Town leaders met Thursday to discuss traffic safety concerns in the Hansen area and throughout the town.

Temporary crosswalks will be constructed in the Hansen School area as a short-term solution while officials discuss more permanent traffic and safety improvements to Central St. in the vicinity of the elementary school, Interim Town Manager Joseph Feaster and Superintendent of Schools Dr. Marguerite Rizzi announced Thursday. Meanwhile, Stoughton's State House delegation has urged Governor Deval Patrick to release money set aside for other projects in the state's transportation bond bill for a traffic study of the Hansen area. Town, regional and state officials met Thursday morning in the Yaitanes Room at the Stoughton Town Hall to discuss traffic safety concerns throughout the town, but specifically the area near the Central St. and West …

Stoughton's Town Hall Roof Project Update Parking in the front of and on either side of Stoughton's Town Hall has been temporarily prohibited as crews continue work on the historic building's roof. The historic building's asphalt roof is being replaced with a more durable slate surface. Town employees will continue to park in the lot in the rear of the building (off Rose Street) and the municipal lot next to the Stoughton Police Station on Rose Street.
