LENNY CLARKE COMING TO STOUGHTON: Yes, that's right, legendary comedian Lenny Clarke will be coming soon to our town. You know him from "Rescue Me", "The Chelsea Handler Show", and, or course, his many appearances on PMPNetwork.com. He'll be coming to VFW Post 1645, 837 Washington Street in Stoughton Center on Friday, April 19. Doors Open at 8 p.m. Show time is 9 p.m. Tickets are $30 each. (Table of 10 for $300.) The Comedy Night is being hosted by Joe Finn, and will also feature Christine Hurley and Jack Walsh. Finn is a recently retired police officer who has been doing and promoting comedy part time for the past 17 years. He tells About Town that, "This is my first show in Stoughton. VOICE OF DEMOCRACY WINNERS ANNOUNCED: Michael Romanuk VFW Post 1645 in Stoughton recently announced the local winners of this year's National VFW competitive educational programs. Since 1947, the Voice of Democracy has been the VFW's premiere scholarship program. Each year over 50,000 high school students compete for more than $2.3 million in scholarships and incentives. Students write and record a broadcast script on an annual patriotic theme. This year 's topic was, "Is Our Constitution Still Relevant?" Stoughton Historical Society's Past President Joe DeVito, who is co-chairman of the local Voice of Democracy competition with VFW 1645 Quartermaster Rudy Medeiros, tells About Town that the 1st place winner at Stoughton High School is …

The Massachusetts Veterans' Service Officers Association hosted their annual Legislative Luncheon on January 18. The luncheon is held to thank our Legislators for their support of veterans’ legislation and keeping Massachusetts the number one State in the country in providing for its veterans and their widows and dependents. Speakers included Speaker of the House Robert A. DeLeo, Lieutenant Governor Timothy P. Murray, Attorney General Martha Coakley, State Treasurer Steven Grossman and Secretary of Veterans' Services Coleman Nee.
