Following a shooting outside Whiplash this past Sunday morning and a number of violent incidents at the club, the Stoughton Board of Selectmen will hold a hearing on May 8 to decide the status of Whiplash's entertainment, alcohol and operation licenses.
In the wake of the early morning shooting which took place outside Whiplash nightclub on Wyman St. in Stoughton this past Sunday, Police Chief Paul Shastany and Executive Officer Robert Devine appeared before the Board of Selectmen Tuesday night and recommended selectmen take "aggressive" and "bold" action against the club's licenses. Devine highlighted a number of violent incidents at the club since July, which culminated in a string of recent activity which included a large brawl with multiple arrests on April 14 and a shooting, which sent two to the hospital on April 21. Two were hospitalized as a result of the Sunday morning shooting in Stoughton.
Stoughton Police and the Massachusetts State Police are in the midst of an investigation to find the involved parties in a shooting outside Whiplash Nightclub that sent two to Boston area hospitals early Sunday morning. The following information is from the Stoughton Police Department Facebook Page: On April, 21 2013 at 12:45 a.m., a shooting occurred in the parking lot of the Trackside Plaza, adjacent to the Whiplash nightclub. Stoughton Police Officers were already on scene and quelling a fight inside the nightclub when the shots rang out. The office of Norfolk County District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey announced Friday afternoon that the Sept. 29 shooting which killed 17-year old Stoughton High senior David Wade was an accident.

Morrissey announced in a press release Friday afternoon. Wade, 17, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest at his Turnpike St. home. He was accidentally shot by his 21-year-old brother. Marvin Pardo, 35, was fatally shot at a Brockton apartment complex Sunday, November 18. His funeral will be held Saturday, Nov. 24, with visiting hours being held the evening of Nov. 23.
Police are investigating a Nov. 18 shooting at an apartment complex in Brockton which killed 35-year-old Marvin Pardo, a Stoughton native and 1996 graduate of Stoughton High. Pardo was "found with gunshot wounds to his head and chest when Brockton police responded to the Madrid Square condominium on Oak Street around 3:33 a.m. Sunday," the Boston Globe reports. According to the Globe, Pardo lived on the first floor in one of the units at Madrid Square and was shot in the building's vestibule. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Brockton Police are still searching for the shooter. No arrests have been made as of yet, according to the Globe. Pardo grew up in Stoughton, attending the Gibbons Elementary School, according to his obituary. …

David Wade, a 17-year-old senior at SHS, died after being shot on Saturday, Sept. 29. His funeral will be Friday with visiting hours scheduled for Thursday. A scholarship fund in his name has been set up by the Stoughton Public Schools.

The following obituary is from the Farley Funeral Home website: David James Wade, 17, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died accidentally on Saturday, September 29 at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the son of Douglas W. and Karyn A. (Kemp) Wade of Stoughton. Born in Quincy, he was educated in Stoughton schools and was a senior at Stoughton High School. David was on his way to being a Triple Crown Recipient for playing three sports for all four years of high school. He was a member of the Stoughton High School football team, #56, as well as the track and field and cheerleading teams. He also volunteered for many school activities.
