Gallery: Stoughton Public Library Hosts Passover Seder

About 50 people gathered in the Wales French Room of the Stoughton Public Library last Wednesday for an early celebration of Passover as part of a Stoughton Reads Together event. The eight-day Jewish holiday officially starts at sundown on Monday, March 25 and commemorates the story of Moses and "the emancipation of the Israelites from slavery in ancient Egypt," according to Chabad.org. Passover is marked by a Seder on the first two nights, "a fifteen-step family-oriented tradition and ritual-packed feast," including the reciting of the Haggadah, which "describes in detail the story of the Exodus from Egypt," according to Chabad.org. My husband and I really enjoyed the Seder for All, a real community event bringing people of all faiths and backgrounds together. Very informative presentation, and the food was great.   more ›
