Twelve Stoughton Pop Warner Players and Cheerleaders Named All-American Scholar-Athletes

A dozen student athletes were honored at the STOYAC Pop Warner banquet for achieving academic excellence.

The STOYAC Pop Warner program honored nine football players and three cheerleaders at its awards banquet Feb. 24 for achieving academic excellence. These 12 Stoughton student-athletes, all seventh and eighth graders, have been named to the 2012 All-American Scholar-Athlete Team, which is awarded to only the top 2-percent of all the boys and girls who paricipate in Pop Warner football and cheerleading throughout the United States, according to the STOYAC website. The following are Stoughton/STOYAC's representatives on the 2012 All-American Scholar-Athlete Team:

"Five Things you Need to Know This Weekend" is the weekend version of the Patch column "Five Things You Need to Know Today." The weekend edition provides readers with essential information for both Saturday and Sunday. 1. "5 For the Cure" Fundraising Walk Coach Ken Gay and the SHS volleyball team will be leading a fundraising campaign for the American Cancer Society on Saturday, October 1, with a “5 For the Cure” fundraiser walk held at Stoughton High School. The 5K walk begins at 9 a.m. from the superintendent’s parking lot. Walkers are asked to make a $5 donation to the American Cancer Society. 2.
