Ok, I breathe the air of the Black Knights, and by association, I dislike the Canton Bulldogs. Nothing personal, but it comes to the Hockomock League, Stoughton is my team. But, Stoughton Historical Society president Dwight MacKerron, says that once upon a time Canton was in Stoughton. “We used to be one town so we have a substantial shared past,” he told About Town. (Stoughton became a town in 1726 with Canton splitting from Stoughton and becoming its own town in 1797). We spoke because the Stoughton Historical Society, together with the Canton Historical Society, is jointly sponsoring an event on Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. at the Canton Public Library. HELPING A THREE YEAR OLD: Filipe Wolff is a three year old Brazilian boy who came to Dana Farber/Children’s Hospital Cancer Center in 2011 for treatment of a rare disease called Langerhans cell Histiocytosis (LCH), a disorder in which the body produces too many white blood cells. After failed chemo and nothing more to offer in Brazil, Filipe came here and was put on a drug called Clofarabine. His cancer had been contained, but his liver was compromised due to a secondary disease. It is now a race against time to raise the $833,000 Filipe needs for a transplant. The local Brazilian and Portuguese Community is rallying to help. A fundraiser will be held at Club Luis de Camoes on Porter Street on June 10, 2012. There is no admission cost, …

RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT HOLDS OPEN HOUSE: Pond View Village, a real estate development located off Turnpike Street in Stoughton, held a Grand Opening Celebration for its new sales center on March 17. The two bedroom I looked at had separate bathrooms and walk-in closets for both bedrooms, and was under $325,000. Century 21 C & S Properties is the listing broker. Pictured (l to r) in our Gallery are Michael Pires, Teresa Teixeira, Nina Lane, Manager Jeff Ledin, and Coleen Polillio. More details at http://www.pondviewvillage.net/. *** O'REGAN HELPS NEW …
