Stoughton High Junior Hunter Goodrich a Star in the Pool

Time Dropped: The success, hard work, achievements and talents of Stoughton High swimmer Hunter Goodrich.

As Stoughton's Aquaman, Hunter Goodrich is undeniably one of the most dedicated, talented and passionate athletes at Stoughton High.  The junior captain of the Stoughton High swim team has, on top of breaking a vast amount of records, won MVP for his team his first three high seasons and is a Hockomock All-Star for the past two years. Goodrich is, by nature, amphibious. Goodrich started swimming competitively at the age of 9 at the Canton Dolphins Recreational Team and "have swam there ever since." Goodrich said his father drew him to the sport. Aside from swimming for Stoughton and The Canton Dolphins Recreational teams, Goodrich swims for Hay Lightning, a swimming team based in North Attleboro out of the YMCA.  Goodrich has competed in …

Stoughton paid tribute to its seniors at this meet, the final one of the regular season. Junior captain Hunter Goodrich qualified for states in the 50-meter freestyle.

Stoughton High Swim Team Looks to Make a Splash This Season

2012-2013 Stoughton High Winter Sports Preview: Looking at the boys' and girls' swim teams.

The Stoughton High swimming team comes into the season with high expectations, looking to become one of the most competitive teams in the Hockomock League. The Knights, who are a fairly young team, have many returnees and new faces who look to make a splash this year for Stoughton. The team, which is co-ed, is headlined by five captains (a trio of senior girls and two junior boys). When swimming up to their potential this group of student-athletes is one that could give some of the usual contenders a good run for their money. First meet: The Knights hit the pool Wednesday 12/12/12 at 4:30 p.m. as they open their season at their home pool against Mansfield. The Knights home pool is located at Randolph High School. Gallery: Stoughton High Swim Regular Season Finale

Graduating seniors are honored before competing in their final regular season meet against neighboring rival Canton.

The Stoughton High boys’ and girls’ swim teams wrapped up their regular season Monday evening with a meet against Canton at the Randolph High pool. The Stoughton boys fell 88-81, while the SHS girls fell 97-64. Coach Krissy Berteletti said she was impressed with the performances of Hunter Goodrich and Zach Monahan on the boys’ side, and Taylor Goodrich and Emily Leahy on the girls’ side. Stoughton High Winter Sports Teams Kick Off 2012

A brief look at where the Stoughton High winter sports teams stand at the start of 2012.

Despite having vacation from school last week, the winter sports athletes at Stoughton High School were plenty busy during the break.  And, after a couple of off days upon their return to school on January 3, Stoughton High teams kicked off the 2012 portion of their winter schedules Wednesday (1/4) with the hockey and wrestling teams in action. The indoor track teams had a meet on Thursday (1/5) and the boys’ and girls’ basketball and swim teams are set to compete on Friday.
