Former Stoughton High Track Star Jade Paul Shines for BU at New England Championships

Paul, a freshman at Boston University, finished sixth overall in the 500-meter event at the New England Championships for track and field, held Feb 22-23.

Former Black Knights track star Jade Paul, a 2012 graduate of Stoughton High, is already making her mark on the Boston University women's track and field team in her freshman season. Paul finished in sixth place in the 500-meter dash at the New England Championships, held Feb. 22-23 at BU.  She recorded a personal best in the preliminaries, finishing in 1:14.45, which was third in her heat. In the finals, Paul finished in 1:15.32, which was sixth overall. Paul has qualified for this weekend's ECAC Championships, which will also be held at BU.  According to the BU athletics website, Paul "made her collegiate debut in the 500-meter dash (1:17.61) and as a member of the 4x400-meter relay team (3:54.82) at the Collegiate Invitational on Feb. 2…

Stoughton High Boys' Indoor Track Wraps Up Season with Strong Performances at Championship Meets

Several members of the Stoughton High boys' indoor track team turned in impressive performances at the Division 2 Indoor Track Championship Meet and at the Hockomock League Indoor Track Championship Meet.

The Stoughton High boys' indoor track team wrapped up its season competing this past Sunday at the Division 2 Championship Meet and then coming back Tuesday night to compete in the rescheduled Hockomock Championship Meet. Both events were held at the Reggie Lewis Center. The team faced significant challenges for the end of the season - The blizzard of 2013 severely impacted everyone's training and the earlier cancellation of the league meet played havoc with most athlete's mental focus. At the D2 meet Malachi Baugh was the top placer, finishing 10th overall in the 55-meter dash (6.87 seconds).  The boys 4 x 400-meter relay team of Jason Marshall, David Lockhart, Wayne Barnaby and Jack D'Addieco set a season best of 3:40.54.  The 4 x 200 …

Baugh Sets Stoughton High Record in 300-Meters at MSTCA Meet; O'Neil Qualifies for States

Several members of the Stoughton High boys' and girls' indoor track teams turned in impressive results at the MSTCA meet Jan. 26.

The following is from Stoughton High indoor track coaches Harvey Blonder (boys) and Bob Clarke (girls): Members of the Stoughton High boys' and girls' track teams competed this past Saturday, Jan. 26 at the MSTCA meet (Massachusetts State Track Coaches Association) held at the Reggie Lewis Center. On the boys' side, the star of the day was Malachi Baugh, who set a new school record in the 300-meters with a time of 37.16 seconds. Also setting personal bests at the meet were David Lockhart in the mile (4:39.02) and Alec DeNapoli in the 1000-meters (2:53.90). Jack D'Addieco (600-meters - 1:28.77) and Pat Jackman (55-meters - 7.08 seconds) showed they are nearly back to full strength following recent injuries. Harley David ran well in both the…

Stoughton High Indoor Track Teams Fall Short vs. Oliver Ames

The Stoughton High boys' and girls' indoor track teams both lost to OA in a meet at BU on Jan. 8. Both the Stoughton boys and girls are 3-1 now on the season.

The Stoughton High boys' and girls' indoor track teams lost for the first time this winter season with each squad falling to Oliver Ames Tuesday, Jan. 8 at Boston University. Stoughton High Freshmen and Sophomores Shine at Indoor Track Meet

Freshmen and sophomores from the Stoughton High boys' and girls' indoor track teams participated in a meet for 9th and 10th graders at the Reggie Lewis Center on Jan. 6.

Freshmen and sophomores on the Stoughton High boys' and girls' indoor track teams took center stage Sunday, Jan. 6 at the Reggie Lewis Center for the MSTCA Freshman/Sophomore meet. Stoughton High Indoor Track Teams Continue Hot Start to Season

The Stoughton High boys' and girls' indoor track teams both beat Milford in a meet at BU on Dec. 22 with each improving to 3-0 on the season.

The Stoughton High boys' and girls' indoor track teams continue their strong start to the winter season after each squad recorded a win against Milford Saturday, Dec. 22 at Boston University. Both the Stoughton boys' and girls' are now 3-0. BOYS The following is from SHS boys' coach Harvey Blonder: Stoughton boys' (3-0) again used an across the board effort to defeat Milford 62-33 at Boston University on Saturday. The boys swept the dash, hurdles and shot put. In the hurdles Stoughton was led by Kevin McDonald (8.59 seconds), Harley David (8.63) and John Eppenstein (8.87). Stoughton High Indoor Track Teams Both Off to 2-0 Starts

The Stoughton High boys' and girls' indoor track teams both beat Foxborough in a meet at BU on Dec. 15.

The Stoughton High boys' and girls' indoor track teams are both off to a 2-0 start this winter season after each squad recorded a win against Foxborough Saturday, Dec. 15 at Boston University. BOYS  The following is from SHS boys' coach Harvey Blonder: The Stoughton boys' defeated Foxborough 65-25 Saturday at BU. The victory was especially gratifying as the boys got a chance to show some of their depth. Missing from the meet with an injury was Kevin McDonald, last week's high point scorer as well as a few others due to several issues/and or injuries. Stoughton High Indoor Track Teams Both Win Season Openers

The SHS boys' beat Canton 70-21 Saturday, sweeping a number of events, while the SHS girls' edged Canton 49-46 the same day, winning on the final event of the meet.

The Stoughton High boys' and girls' indoor track teams started the winter season off on the right foot Saturday at the Reggie Lewis Center with both teams earning victories over Hockomock League Davenport Division rival Canton. BOYS In the past three meetings with Canton, the Stoughton boys' indoor track team finished with two ties and a one-point loss. This time there were no dramatics as Stoughton won decisively, 70-21, with the Black Knights sweeping the hurdles, 300-meter, long jump and shot put events, coach Harvey Blonder said. Kevin McDonald was the high scorer this first meet with 12 points and was the "athlete of the meet," Blonder said.
