Photo highlights of the annual post-graduation bash for the Stoughton High School senior class.
Just a few hours after the conclusion of the Stoughton High commencement exercises for the Class of 2012, the new graduates made their way to the O’Donnell Middle School for Party All Night Long, the annual alcohol-free and drug-free post-graduation bash. This year, the theme for PANL was a carnival and the halls of the OMS were transformed to look like fair grounds. There was even a mock carousel in the cafeteria, which housed numerous Vegas-style casino games, games of Simon Says, tattoo artists (they were temporary tattoos), artists drawing caricatures, DJ entertainment, and an endless array of late night snacks, including ice cream and slush from Daddy's Dairy. In the gymnasium there was an inflatable pedestal joust ring and an …

Stoughton High held its 143rd Commencement Exercises on Thursday, June 7.
The more than 250 members of the Stoughton High Class of 2012 gathered in the Stoughton High auditorium Thursday evening, June 7, along with family, friends, faculty and administration for the School's 143rd Commencement Exercises. And while most in the room would have preferred to have been on the football field for an outdoor graduation, the rainy weather and change of venue did not dampen the celebration. Two-hundred and fifty-six (256) students walked across the stage to receive their diplomas, capping their high school careers. Of the 256, about 89 percent will be continuing their education, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Marguerite Rizzi said - 66 percent at a four-year college; 20 percent at a two-year college; and 3 percent at a …

The soon-to-be graduate was referring to her fellow top-ten graduates in this year's Stoughton High senior class. The group has gotten to know each other well after traveling in the same circle of honors and Advanced Placement classes while at Stoughton High. After four years of demanding coursework and a plethora of extra curricular activities, Kevin Roopcharan is the Stoughton High Class of 2012's valedictorian, the top-ranked student in the graduating class. Edward Ruddy, the salutatorian, is ranked second. Rounding out the top ten (in order of class rank, based on grade point average): Muhammad Mir, …
The SHS graduation will take place in the high school's auditorium at 5:30 p.m. due to the possibility of isolated Thunderstorms. SMAC will be televising commencement live.
Not wanting to "gamble with the possibility of isolated thunderstorms," Stoughton High principal Matt Colantonio informed the SHS community the graduation for the class of 2012 will be indoors Thursday evening. Commencement exercises will still take place June 7 at 5:30 p.m., but will now be held in the Stoughton High auditorium. "An indoor graduation is not open to the public," Colantonio wrote in an email, sent to the school's listserv. "All graduates get two tickets attached to their report cards [Thursday] at the mandatory rehearsal at 1 p.m." His email continues: "This means each graduate will only be allowed to bring two guests (which is why the decision to move inside is a difficult one). We also have a handful of extra tickets, but…
