Gallery: Stoughton High Boys’ Basketball and Cheerleading Senior Night

Prior to the start of Friday's Stoughton High boys' basketball Senior Night game against Oliver Ames, Stoughton honored senior players Middleton, Bunce-Grenon, Oliveira, Grant, Andrew Valle and Aaron and Matt Mack; team manager Josh Brown, a senior; and senior cheerleaders Michelle Bisbee and Nicole Kerman.  Stoughton lost 77-70, falling to 8-10 on the season. The Black Knights will need to win their final two games at the Walpole Tournament Sunday and Monday. Middleton led Stoughton against OA, scoring a career-high 30 points, finishing just four points shy of joining Stoughton High's 1,000 point club. The Stoughton High boys’ basketball team cruised to a 20-point win, 72-52, over Canton Tuesday night at home on senior night. Before the game, the Black Knights honored senior cheerleaders Stephanie Amaral, Lauren Cellucci, Nicole Fuentes-Vargas, Lily Lamplough, Rachel Resurreccion and Keion Lugay. They also honored their four senior players: Antonio “Nuke” Ferreira, Raymond Bowdre, Steffan Jackson, and Donald Saladin. Stoughton High Boys’ Basketball Beats Canton on Senior Night

The Black Knights came away with a 72-52 win Tuesday evening at home, beating Canton for the second time this season. Junior Aaron Calixte scored 32 points, joining Stoughton’s 1,000-point club.

To say Tuesday night’s game was ­­eventful would still be a huge understatement. Between the pregame celebration of the senior players and cheerleaders, and the in-game celebration of Aaron Calixte’s 1000th career point, it was easy to consider the night a success for the Stoughton High boys’ basketball team. But somewhere between all of that, there was a game to play. Stoughton was able to carry the positive energy from the pregame ceremony into the game and take down Canton, 72-52, improving to 15-2 on the season.
