The 2013 Evening of Jazz, featuring musicians from Stoughton High and the O’Donnell Middle School, will be held March 13 at the Stoughton High auditorium.
The following is from the Stoughton Public Schools Music Department: The Stoughton Public Schools Music Department will present its 2013 Evening of Jazz on Wednesday, March 13. The concert will feature the O’Donnell Middle School 6th Grade Jazz Band, Tuesday Jazz Band and the Wednesday Jazz Band. The concert will also feature the Stoughton High School Tuesday and Wednesday Jazz Bands, the SHS Jazz Choir and Jazz Combo. The concert will be held in the high school auditorium and begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door only - adults $5, seniors and children $3, with a family maximum of $10. The following is a press release from the Stoughton High Music Department: The Stoughton High Music Department, in collaboration with Parents of Performing Students (POPS), is sponsoring its 1st Annual "Stoughton's Got Talent" talent show on Friday April 12, at 7 p.m. in the Stoughton High auditorium. If you sing, dance, play an instrument, play in a band, tell jokes, or do magic, this is the show for you! There are cash awards for the top three contestants - $150 for 1st place, $100 for 2nd place and $75 for 3rd place. All residents of Stoughton and students of the public schools are welcome to participate. Take a look at photos from the O'Donnell Middle School 8th Grade Winter Concert, held Wednesday, Jan. 16 in the Stoughton High auditorium. The 8th Grade Band and Wednesday Jazz Band, under the direction of John Kearns, and the 8th Grade Chorus, under the direction of Betty Bauman, each performed a number of selections. The OMS 7th grade concert is scheduled for Jan. 23 and the 6th grade concert is scheduled for Jan. 30, with both also taking place in the SHS auditorium. ***
