The Stoughton Democratic Town Committee, together with the Democratic Town Committees of Sharon, Canton and Easton, gathered at the Suffolk Grille on Washington Street in Canton Monday, Jan. 21 (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day), to watch the second inauguration of President Barack Obama. Take a look at photos of the group as they enjoyed watching the inaugural festivities while having brunch.

DEMOCRATS HOLD AWARDS DINNER: The Stoughton Democratic Town Committee handed out a number of awards on Oct. 18, at a dinner at Chinatown Restaurant. John Kavin, who co-chaired the event with Donna Smith, was the evening's host. Roberto Soto was vice chair of the event. State Rep. Lou Kakfa (D-Stoughton) was there to help present the awards. About 40 people gathered in the restaurant's function room for delicious food, and conversation of how to bring about Democratic victory in November. Obama and Warren shirts were the fashion statement. The most prestigious award of the night, The John Joseph Moakley Lifetime Achievement Award went to Steven Fradkin, owner of Wizard of Ads in Canton, and a big cog in the Democratic machine in the State. …

The following is adapted from a press release from the Massachusetts Democratic Party: Eleven Stoughton Democrats will be among the more than 5,000 delegates to the Massachusetts Democratic Party’s Endorsing Convention on June 2 in Springfield to award the Party’s endorsement to one of the Democratic candidates for U.S. Senate. The Stoughton delegation includes: Leonard Gosule, Stanley Zoll, Florence Jones, Patricia MacNeil, Steven Fradkin, Sharon Fradkin, Linda Hickey, Jacqueline Jones, Beverly Harris, Lester Davis, and Allan Mills. In February, Democrats and unenrolled voters gathered at a caucus in Stoughton to elect local representatives to the convention. IMPORTANT VOTER INFORMATION: From Town Clerk Cheryl Mooney—The last day to register to vote or change your party for the Presidential Primary on March 6 is Wednesday, February 15. Please contact the Town Clerk’s Office if you are not sure if you are registered to vote or to check your party registration. If you have moved into Stoughton recently, you will need to register to vote in Stoughton. If you have recently gotten married, you will also need to change your name on your voter registration.
