CareCentral Urgent Care, owned by husband-wife duo Everton Weeks and Dr. Renee Wilson-Weeks, recently opened at Stop & Shop Plaza in Stoughton, offering a wide-range of health care services.
Your child is running down the first base line, trying to leg out an infield single in a youth baseball or softball game, and ends up tweaking an ankle, landing awkwardly on the first base bag. Is the ankle sprained, strained, or worse, fractured? Where in the past the child may have been taken to the emergency room, Everton Weeks and Dr. Renee Wilson-Weeks say they have opened an alternative place to go in cases like this - a place that still offers the same urgent care, but in a more cost-efficient, convenient setting, without the long waits. This past November, the husband-wife team opened up CareCentral Urgent Care, located at 286 Washington St. in Stop & Shop Plaza in Stoughton. The business is a member of the Stoughton Chamber of …

A ROAST WELL DONE: The Stoughton Chamber of Commerce roasted Stoughton real estate legend Fred Yaitanes this past Saturday night at the Portuguese National Club. Fred, along with his lovely bride Nadine Israel, owns the Fred & Nadine Realtor Team of Stoughton, which runs out of the Keller Williams in Easton. Unfortunately, Nadine is recovering from back surgery and was unable to make the event. But, a number of roasters stepped to the podium to gently scorch the Stoughton Chamber and SOLA Board member. I had the honor of serving as the emcee for this roast, and began the evening with this zinger: "We're gathered here tonight to honor a true legend in the field of real estate, a man who changed the way to sell homes. A man whose marketing…

REAL ESTATE ROAST ROSTER: The Stoughton Chamber of Commerce is roasting another "victim" on Saturday, March 2. After previous roasts of Terry Schneider, Francis T. Crimmins, Jr. and Mike Sammarco, this year's "roastee" is Stoughton real estate legend Fred Yaitanes. Fred, along with his lovely bride Nadine Israel, owns the Fred & Nadine Realtor Team of Stoughton, which runs out of the Keller Williams Office in Easton. Fred is an active member of the Food Pantry Foundation of Stoughton, and recently directed a murder mystery at Town Hall that raised over $3,000 for SOLA (Support Our Library Association). The roast, which runs from 7-9:30 p.m. at the Portuguese National Club at 21 Railroad Avenue, will feature decadent desserts and a lot…

The Stoughton Chamber of Commerce held its annual meeting and awards ceremony Jan. 7 at the New England Sinai Hospital. The award recipients all play important roles in helping the food pantries in town.
Giving back to the food pantries has been a focus of the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce and its member businesses be it through donations, helping to deliver food to the pantries, playing a key role in the annual Doin' It For Diane food pantry fundraiser, providing new shelving for the St. Anthony's Food Pantry, or even painting the exterior of the Ilse Marks Food Pantry. So, it is rather fitting that at the chamber's annual meeting, held at the New England Sinai Hospital's Brenner Conference Room Jan. 7, the group honored a number of individuals or businesses who have made a difference in the community, in part because of their work with the food pantries - Anne Havlin, Mark Snyder, Christine Gallagher, Jill O'Keefe, and Stop & Shop. Anne…

PLANET MIKEY CONQUERS STOUGHTON: Mike Adams, creator and host of Planet Mikey on WEEI sports talk radio (93.7 FM in Boston and 103.7 FM in Providence), was the featured speaker at the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting at the N.E. Sinai Hospital and Rehabilitation Center on Monday night. Adams features a lot of self-deprecating humor ("I look just like the guy you have in produce," he quipped to the Stop & Shop contingent in the crowd), and had the audience laughing hysterically. Adams said he was thrilled to be in Stoughton. “It’s a manly-sounding town. It’s not like Beverly, or Seekonk,” he joked. He said he just loved radio. “Radio beats working. I talk sports. People call when they’re drunk. I talk them down. People just …

The following is a press release from the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce: Last Monday, Terry Schneider, Executive Director of the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce, received an e-mail from Patricia Small, nursing director of the the Stoughton Public Schools, that the annual collection of food from the high school students and staff, for the Ilse Marks Food Pantry & St. Anthony's Free Market, had been completed. Pat asked Schneider if the Chamber could come to their aid in moving the food from the nurses office to the pantries. Knowing how much food was donated last year, Schneider and his Chamber Elves arrived with a pickup truck and an SUV and even that wasn't enough room, they had to use Schneider's car as well to transport the food. The …

Dr. Wilson-Weeks (and her staff) went out of her way to stay late one night to treat my son, who did end up having pneumonia. He was on on meds and being treated within a short span of time, rather than waiting for 6 hours in the emergency room. I recommend their services.   more ›
