No offense Mr. Recupero, but, the majority of people running State and Federal Governments are Lawyers. Look at the current state of both Governments. Question: Do we really need more Lawyers in Government? Would you please answer that without dodging the question, as most Lawyers/Politicians do.   more ›

ABOUT TOWN: Bob’s Foodmart Expanding; And Selectman Anderson Holds Campaign Event

Welcome to "About Town with Mark Snyder," a column that will keep you up to the minute with what's what, who's who and what's going on around town. If you see or hear something we could use here, let us know by sending an e-mail to pmpco@aol.com.

THE SECRET IS OUT: Bob's Famous Foodmart is about to become even more famous.  I've tried to keep a secret about the 289 Park Street business, but it's about to leak out.  When my mom was in Copley, I needed to get quick lunches when I visited.  I'd go to Bob's and get amazing lunches—from meatloaf to steak tips to chicken parmesan, with all the side fixings. And, the cost was low.  I only shared my discovery with a few chosen friends so that the lines wouldn't get so long that I'd be late for afternoon appointments.  But, now I can't hold back anymore.  Bob's is going to be expanding.  They are going to be open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m., and offer breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Instead of just takeout, there will now be seating for 15, which …

BURCHELL'S JEWELRY MOVES TO CANTON:  My favorite place to get a new battery for my watch has left town, but isn’t going far. Burchell's Jewelry Store opened in 1978 at 1819 Park Street.  Current owner Alex Zvagin, who studied art restoration in his native St. Petersburg, Russia, learned the craft of jewelry making when he moved to Boston. He provided jewelry services to a number of retailers before taking over the Stoughton location 16 years ago. Many customers will miss Jacques, Zvagin's giant dog who greeted customers on Park Street.   Alex told About Town that the building he was in on Park St. was being sold and he was forced to relocate.  He landed at 575 Washington Street in Canton Center.  Zvagin said, "Canton has been good for me. …
