Stoughton YMCA to Kick off Annual Support Campaign with Spin-a-Thon

The spin-a-thon wil take place at the Stoughton YMCA on March 23, helping make Y programs available to community members, regardless of financial or life circumstances.

The following is from the Old Colony YMCA:  The Old Colony YMCA Stoughton Branch is launching their Annual Support Campaign with two events: Third Annual Spin-a-Thon  From 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 23 members of the community will ‘Pedal for a Purpose’ to raise money to ensure that the community has access to important Y programs, regardless of their current financial or life circumstances.  If you would like to participate in the event or sponsor a spinner, please contact Serah Selmon at sselmon@oldcolonyymca.org. SECOND ANNUAL SPIN-A-THON FOR STRONG KIDS A SUCCESS: The Old Colony YMCA Stoughton Branch held its second "Ride for Strong Kids" Spin-a-thon, sponsored by CBIZ Tofias, on Saturday, March 24. Money raised from this event will support the branch’s annual campaign, providing financial assistance for community kids and families who without this support would not be able to participate in YMCA membership, camp and afterschool programs. "Working alongside the committee of volunteers that made this event happen, is truly inspiring," stated Serah Selmon, Associate Executive Director of the Stoughton Branch. GUNS & HOSES: March 24 at 5:20 p.m., The Stoughton Fire and Police Departments are set to face off in the Sixth Annual Guns N’ Hoses Benefit Hockey Game.  The two teams will meet at the Asiaf Rink, Brockton High School, where the Fire Dept. hopes to defend the victory they earned a year ago.  In February, the two teams faced each other to raise money for the Fisher House. In an evenly contested match the two teams were deadlocked at a goal a piece when the final seconds ticked off the clock.  This time the two departments will face off to raise money for Friends Of Stoughton Hockey (F.O.S.H.).  F.O.S.H. is a 501 (c) non-profit organization dedicated to helping young hockey players improve their hockey skills. The Stoughton YMCA is holding a spin-a-thon on Saturday, March 24 to help support the branch’s annual campaign, which provides financial assistance for children and families in the community.
