Projected snowfall totals for this weekend's snowstorm have been significantly reduced.
How much snow will Stoughton get from this weekend's storm? Not as much as originally forecasted. What was at first thought to be a more significant storm when the first snowfall projections were made earlier this week, will now be rather insignificant, at least according to the most recent forecasts. WBZ is projecting most of southeastern Massachusetts, including Stoughton, to get between 1 to 3 inches of snow. WCVB Channel 5 also projects 1-3 inches. 7 News has the Stoughton area near the boarder of getting 2 to 4 inches of snow and just 1 to 2. FOX 25 projects a bit more snow, 2 to 4 inches, but has Stoughton near an area receiving 4 to 6 inches. Still, the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for this area …

Meanwhile, WBZ reported on its broadcast that Stoughton had 31.5 inches of snow. It was the second highest snow accumulation total WBZ collected, only surpassed by West Boylston, which WBZ said received 34.5 inches. The town, for the most part, was effectively shut down Saturday as DPW crews and residents began the cleanup process. A lot of work remains to be done. Meteorologists are projecting Friday's storm will produce as much as 2 feet of snow for much of Massachusetts, including Stoughton. This area is under a blizzard warning, according to the National Weather Service.
Almost 35-years to the day of the anniversary of the Blizzard of '78, the Boston area is expected to get walloped by another snowstorm, which may drop as much as a foot or two of snow this Friday into Saturday. Local meteorologists are projecting about 2 feet of snow for the Boston area, including Stoughton. This area is under a blizzard warning, from Friday morning until Saturday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
