Photos from around Stoughton during Thursday and Friday's lingering snowstorm, which unexpectedly brought about two feet of snow.
Take a look at photos from the latest snowstorm, which blanketed Stoughton Thursday and Friday. Pictures were taken Friday afternoon, March 8. As late as Wednesday afternoon, forecasts indicated this area would see a lingering winter storm last all of Thursday and into Friday afternoon, but the total snowfall would be minimal - maybe 1 to 3 inches. Projected snowfall totals for this weekend's snowstorm have been significantly reduced.

Winter returns to Stoughton in the form of snow.
It’s been a relatively mild and snowless winter this year, but on the last day of February and on the first day of March, Mother Nature left Stoughton and the rest of the region a small reminder that winter isn’t over yet. Stoughton saw a small amount of snow on February 29 and March 1—enough to blanket yards across town—and dealt with cold temperatures on March 2. But, the winter weather isn’t staying around too long. According to the National Weather Service, Stoughton will see temperatures in the 30s and 40s to begin the week, but by the mid to end of this upcoming week, temperatures are supposed to be in the 50s, maybe even reaching the 60s. Take a look at some photos in the media gallery above from around town after the snowfall.

Stoughton was hit with its first measurable snowfall of the season on Friday and Saturday, picking up 4 inches in the predawn hours on Friday, and a little less during the day on Saturday. Friday’s snow didn’t cancel school, but the Gibbons Elementary School on Morton St. closed due to a water main break, giving those students a bonus day off. The Stoughton Fire Department reported that Saturday morning was very busy with “slip and fall calls.” Take a look at the photo gallery above to see pictures of the town blanketed in snow.
