Stoughton High Girls' Basketball Cruises in Regular Season Finale; Looks Ahead to Postseason

The Stoughton High girls' basketball team beat Notre Dame Academy 60-33 Tuesday evening to end the regular season 13-7. Stoughton now awaits its state tournament seeding.

The Stoughton High girls' basketball team jumped out to an early lead en route to a 60-33 win in the regular season finale Tuesday against Notre Dame Academy at the Sharon Basketball Classic. Stoughton, now 13-7, will prep for the MIAA state tournament. On Friday the team will find out its seeding in the Division 1 South Sectional bracket and if it will get to host a tournament game, Stoughton coach Janet Sullivan said.  The victory over Notre Dame was the perfect tuneup for a Black Knights team that had lost two in a row heading into Tuesday's game and was looking for a positive showing before heading into the postseason. Buzzer-Beater Sinks Stoughton High Girls' Basketball

The Stoughton High girls' basketball team fell 52-50 Monday afternoon after Holliston hit a two-point shot as time expired.

The Stoughton High girls' basketball team was in action Monday afternoon at the Sharon Basketball Classic when they fell to Holliston, 52-50, on a Stephanie Berard buzzer-beater with no time remaining. With the game tied at 50 in the fourth quarter, Stoughton had a chance to take the lead at the other end of the court, but turned the ball over, giving Holliston about 20 seconds to run a final play.  "Our defense held for the first shot [attempt], but we did not box out, we gave them the second shot and against a team like this you give them too many opportunities and it's going to cost you and it did. Holliston played well, they deserved to win," Stoughton coach Janet Sullivan said.  With the loss Stoughton falls to 12-7 on the season, but…
