Stoughton Public Schools will have a two-hour delayed opening Tuesday, March 19 according to Superintendent of Public Schools Dr. Marguerite Rizzi. School dismissal will be at the usual time.

School will now open at 9:30 a.m. for middle school and high school students and 10:15 a.m. for elementary school students. Bus pick-up will be two hours later than normal. Lunches will still be served at the regular time. School dismissal will also be at the usual time. With many schools delayed or closed across Massachusetts, the state announced that the MCAS English Language Arts Composition test for students in grades 4, 7 and 10 has been postponed until Monday, March 25. Stoughton Public Schools will be closed Friday, February 8 due to a snowstorm which is expected to drop 1 to 2 feet of snow on the region.
Students in Stoughton will have an unexpected long weekend. In advance of Friday's projected blockbuster snowstorm, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Marguerite Rizzi informed Stoughton Patch that schools will be closed in Stoughton on Friday, Feb. 8, 2013. Dr. Rizzi announced the decision shortly after 11:30 a.m. on Thursday. "In the latest MEMA conference call they asked for all cars [to be] off the roads by 11 [Friday morning]. Stoughton Public Schools will be closed Monday, October 29, 2012 due to Hurricane Sandy, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Marguerite Rizzi said. Dr. Rizzi made her decision shortly after 5 p.m. on Sunday. This followed a Sunday afternoon press conference where Governor Deval Patrick asked that all schools and colleges in the state be closed in anticipation of the storm. Town Hall, the Stoughton Public Library and the Senior Center/Youth Commission Building will also be closed on Monday. Governor Patrick wants all cars off the road by noon. If there was early dismissal there would be no way to get the kids all bussed home by then. I think Dr. Rizzi made the right call.   more ›
