Ahavath Torah Congregation held a Purim Carnival on Sunday, March 4.
Ahavath Torah Congregation in Stoughton held a Purim Carnival this past Sunday afternoon, March 4. There were inflatable structures, games, face painting, snacks (including the Purim favorite of Hamantashen—tri-cornered cookies), and plenty of prizes. This year, Purim started at sundown on March 7, and is being celebrated on March 8. The holiday, according to the Chabad website, tells the story of protagonists Queen Ester and her cousin Mordechai, commemorating “the salvation of the Jewish people in ancient Persia from Haman’s plot to destroy, kill and annihilate all the Jews, young and old, infants and women, in a single day.”
