The highlight of this year's Party All Night Long for the Class of 2012 came at 3 a.m. on June 8 with hypnotist Jim Spinnato making his annual appearance at PANL. He had more than a dozen graduates shouting in excitement, throwing tantrums, smelling one another, and dancing to a number of hit songs as their classmates laughed along. Photo highlights of the annual post-graduation bash for the Stoughton High School senior class.

Just a few hours after the conclusion of the Stoughton High commencement exercises for the Class of 2012, the new graduates made their way to the O’Donnell Middle School for Party All Night Long, the annual alcohol-free and drug-free post-graduation bash. This year, the theme for PANL was a carnival and the halls of the OMS were transformed to look like fair grounds. There was even a mock carousel in the cafeteria, which housed numerous Vegas-style casino games, games of Simon Says, tattoo artists (they were temporary tattoos), artists drawing caricatures, DJ entertainment, and an endless array of late night snacks, including ice cream and slush from Daddy's Dairy. In the gymnasium there was an inflatable pedestal joust ring and an …

DAWE SCHOOL'S COMMUNITY READING DAY: The Dawe Elementary School held their 5th Annual Community Reading Day last Friday. Principal David Barner said, “We started it with our school council five years ago. I had the honor of reading Holly Robinson Peete’s book about autism for Mrs. Whoriskey’s third grade class. What a great group of children, who asked excellent questions, about diversity, newspapers--but, mostly about my dog, Harry.   Readers included: Former Dawe School principals Joseph Dawe, Jr. and Dr. …

The Dawe does a wonderful job promoting a love of reading. But I do find it concerning that parents were not notified of community reading day. My son told me that a man came to read to his class. He knew his name, but not who he was or why he was there. I recognized the name as a school committee member and assumed he was there to visit the school as part of his work with the schools. I had no …   more ›
