STOUGHTON GIRL GETTING A KICK OUT OF SOCCER SUCCESS! Stoughton's Adriana Forcucci was born and raised here.  She started playing Stoughton town soccer at age six. Adriana has also played club soccer for the Scorpions for the past six years.  She is a freshman at Cardinal Spellman High School in Brockton and even though she is just in her first year there she made the varsity soccer team there. She is a forward  on the team, and quite a prolific scorer!  She is listed on Boston.com High School Girls' Soccer scoring leaders in the Catholic Central League, with 9 goals and 5 assists for a total of 14 points. Her team is currently 15-0 heading into an October 24 match at Bishop Stang. Her jersey number is “lucky 13."  Stoughton is proud of …

SUPPORT YOUR LIBRARY! The first Annual Meeting of Support Our Library Association, Inc. (SOLA) will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 7 p.m. in the Wales French Room of the Stoughton Public Library. Nominations for Officers and Directors will be presented, and nominations will be allowed from the membership. Elections will take place for the 2013 year. There will also be a recap of the first year’s activities, and a presentation of upcoming events and expenditures. Support Our Library Association, Inc. is a non-profit corporation, with IRS 501(c) 3 status, formed for the purpose of raising funds to support programs and services of the Stoughton Public Library. The public is welcome to attend this meeting, and join the Association…

This weekend is jam-packed with fundraisers, performances, open houses, and other events in Stoughton. For your convenience, here is a list of what is going on in town on Saturday and Sunday. *** FIRE PREVENTION OPEN HOUSE: The Stoughton Fire Department welcomes local families to a free Fire Prevention Open House on Saturday, October 15, 2011. The Open House will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 30 Freeman Street.  Families can learn fire safety tips and procedures. Children will get a hands-on experience of what it's like to be a firefighter. ABOUT TOWN: Dolloff Would be Wise Choice for Fire Chief (And More...)

TONIGHT AT TOWN HALL: The Board of Selectmen meeting, starting at 7:30 p.m. in the Great Hall on the third floor of Town Hall, should be blazing tonight, when Town Manager Frank Crimmins and Human Resources Director Martin McNamara announce who has been hired as the new Chief of the Stoughton Fire Department.  It is this writer's guess that Interim Fire Chief Mark Dolloff, a Stoughton Fire employee since 1983, will get the position. He was out front and took a leadership role during the crisis created by the National Grid power loss from Hurricane Irene.   Selectmen will also work on: Mike Pazyra, the Town's Veteran's Agent, will announce veterans selected for Memorial Square Dedications, and update residets about two World War II heroes. …
