Stoughton Students Present The Gettysburg Address Last school year, as part of a special Stoughton Patch project, sixteen Stoughton students, ranging in age from first grade to 12th grade, took turns reading one of the most famous speeches in American history, the Gettysburg Address. President Abraham Lincoln delivered the Gettysburg Address 149 years ago to the day, on November 19, 1863 at a Civil War cemetery dedication in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
