Stoughton High Boys' Basketball Earns 30-Point Win Against North Attleboro

The Stoughton High boys' basketball team picked up its fifth win of the season beating visiting North Attleboro 85-55 Tuesday night. Check out pictures of the players and cheerleaders in the media gallery of this article.

The Stoughton High boys' basketball team was in action Tuesday night to kick off the second half of the season, defeating visiting North Attleboro 85-55. With the win, the Knights improve to 5-6 and find themselves needing to get 5 more wins in the last 9 games to qualify for the MIAA state tournament. After a back and forth first quarter the Knights played with a sense of urgency throughout the game, in what was truly a must win situation for Stoughton. Stoughton led by six, 17-11 at the end of the first quarter, and then started to open things up, taking a 39-24 lead into the half, and a 61-39 lead after three quarters, before coming away with the 30-point win. Stoughton High Boys’ Basketball Bounces Back at NA, Giving Coach Milestone Win

After losing to Mansfield on Tuesday, the Black Knights easily beat North Attleboro, 67-31, on the road Friday evening. The win marked the 100th of head coach John Gallivan’s career.

The Stoughton High boys’ basketball team started their game Friday night with a 12-0 run and never looked back. They picked up their seventh victory of the season and head coach John Gallivan’s 100th career win by defeating the North Attleboro Red Rocketeers, 67-31. “Our kids came in with a mindset that we had to bounce back from Tuesday night’s loss [against Mansfield],” Gallivan said. “They did a good job getting up early and staying up, and taking advantage of the situation as it presented itself.” Despite another strong performance on the court from the players, the biggest story was the milestone win for the very humble head coach. “Honestly, it doesn’t feel any different,” Gallivan said of the win. “Not to sound Belichickian, but a …
