The Stoughton High NHS chapter added 35 new members during Wednesday night's ceremony held at the high school auditorium.

Stoughton High honored not only some of its most successful students, but accomplished and well-rounded individuals Wednesday night, at the annual National Honor Society induction ceremony, held in the SHS auditorium. A combined 35 students - 22 juniors and 13 seniors - were inducted into the Stoughton High chapter of the National Honor Society. They join the 27 current members of the Stoughton High NHS, who were inducted last year. Members of the Stoughton High NHS "have a minimum of a B+ average, defined as an average of 3.3 on a 4.3 scale," according to the school's handbook. But scholarship is just one part of National Honor Society. Membership in NHS is based upon achieving excellence in scholarship, leadership, service and overall …

Stoughton High National Honor Society Inducts Well-Rounded Group of Leaders

The Stoughton High NHS chapter added 39 new members during Wednesday night's ceremony, and inducted seven honorary members, comprised of current and former Stoughton educators.

“Always do more than is required of you,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Marguerite Rizzi said, quoting General George S. Patton. But she told this year’s inductees to the Stoughton High chapter of the National Honor Society that this was something they already knew—and something they already did. The 39 students —27 juniors and 12 seniors— who were inducted into NHS during a ceremony held in the SHS auditorium Wednesday night, achieved success in and out of the classroom, as honor roll students, sports captains and class officers; as section leaders in band, editors of the school paper and volunteers in various religious groups; and as peer mediators, camp counselors and youth sports coaches.  “You have emerged here as leaders,” Principal …

1. Sisters on Safari This Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 7 p.m., Stoughton resident Dori Frankel will be sharing videos and crafts from a safari trip to Africa she went on last year. The presentation takes place in the Wales French Room of the Stoughton Public Library She will share movies, photos, crafts and handwovens, which she brought back from Botswana and Zambia. It's the chance to go on an African Safari without leaving Stoughton. 2.
