William Galvin, a Canton Democrat (precincts 1, 5, 7 and 8) and in the State Senate by Sen. Brian A. Joyce, a Milton Democrat. The Massachusetts House of Representatives approved a Transportation Infrastructure Improvements Financing Bill, which includes $275,000 for Stoughton.
Stoughtons's two State Representatives, William C. Galvin (D-Canton) and Louis L. Kafka (D-Stoughton), joined their colleagues in the Massachusetts House of Representatives in passing legislation that provides funding for improvements to the state’s transportation system, including $275,000 for Stoughton-specific projects, according to a press release from Galvin's office. This legislation, the release states, includes $100,000 for a traffic study of downtown Stoughton to "come up with creative ways to alleviate traffic congestion and improve traveler safety in the area." Easton Police Arrest Two For Heroin Possession Ryan Desrosiers, 27, of Falmouth, and his girlfriend, Andrea Poirier, 22, of Norwood, were arrested by Easton Police on June 1 after heroin was allegedly found in their car. The following is adapted from a press release from the Office of Representative William C. Galvin: Stoughton’s two State Representatives, William C. Galvin (D-Canton) and Louis L. Kafka (D-Stoughton), joined their colleagues in the Massachusetts House of Representatives in passing legislation that allotted $772,462 for the maintenance of roads and bridges in Stoughton for the upcoming fiscal year. This is $2,292 less than the Chapter 90 funding set aside for Stoughton for this fiscal year (774,754). There is a formula that determines how much funding a community receives. It is based on the number of jobs, miles of road, and population. Overall, the bill authorizes $200 million for the maintenance and upkeep of municipal roads and bridges…

State Rep. Louis Kafka (D-Stoughton) officially launched his campaign for a 12th term representing Sharon and parts of Stoughton, Walpole and Mansfield at the State House Tuesday night. The Kafka Committee held a campaign kickoff reception at Alice's Mandarin Taste in Sharon. Kafka greeted supporters. Serving in the state Legislature has been "a very exciting job, because every day is different," said Kafka, a Stoughton resident. Representative Louis L. Kafka (D-Stoughton) announced in a press release on Friday that he will be seeking reelection to another term as the State Representative to the Massachusetts General Court from the 8th Norfolk District. Citing the challenges that lay ahead for his District and the Commonwealth, Kafka is both “concerned and invigorated by what he expects will be an eventful next session,” the press release states.
