Here's the list of what is open and closed in most states on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day this year, Monday, January 21, 2013: Open (at owner's discretion): Closed: No Trash Pickup in Stoughton on MLK Day There will be no curbside trash collection on Monday, January 21, 2013, in observance of MLK Day. Trash collection for 1/21 will be scheduled for Tuesday, January 22 in addition to the regular Tuesday collection. This is standard procedure for any holiday. For safety reasons, the Stoughton DPW will discontinue pickup at dark on Tuesday, January 22. Any rubbish not picked up on Tuesday, January 22 will be picked up on Wednesday, January 23. STOUGHTON HIGH CHEERLEADERS MAKE IT TO NATIONALS: The Stoughton High School cheerleaders made it to Nationals, held in Florida this March. They are trying to raise $25,000 to send the team there for the first time in school history! They are having a Penny sale fundraiser at the VFW on Washington Street in Stoughton on Sunday, January 15, from 2-5 p.m. They have also been working at Gillette Stadium events to help raise money. They will be canning around town in the next few weeks and selling candy.
