REMEMBERING A BELOVED TEACHER: Marilyn Fiske, a reading teacher at the Gibbons Elementary School, unexpectedly passed away this Thanksgiving, November 22, 2012, at the age of 64. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Marguerite Rizzi wrote, "Marilyn has been a reading teacher for the Stoughton Public Schools for over 27 years. During her tenure, she served as a remedial teacher in the summer school program, served on curriculum review committees, as well as volunteered as a mentor in our new teacher mentoring program." Gibbons School principal Lynne Jardin told About Town, "There aren't enough words to describe her. She was an amazing person. There was no child she didn't touch. This was my reading teacher that helped me read when I was in 1st grade and so on, she was my favorite teacher, and will be dearly missed. My prayers are with her family. Rest in Peace...   more ›
