Former SHS Basketball Star Calixte Flourishing in Transition from Stoughton High to Lee Academy

Catching up with Aaron Calixte, former Stoughton High boys' basketball captain who transferred to Lee Academy, a prep school in Maine, with the hopes of getting a scholarship from a major Division 1 college basketball school.

Whether it be for his huge performances in critical games - like scoring 38 points in a quadruple overtime game against rival Oliver Ames; or scoring 32 points at home against Canton bringing him over the 1,000 point mark, becoming the first player in school history to reach the milestone as a junior; or his heroics throughout the 2012 MIAA state tournament bringing his team to the TD Garden - or his warm-hearted personality and infectious smile, former Stoughton High boys' bsketball star Aaron Calixte will not soon be forgotten by his classmates, teachers and SHS community as a whole. In July, Calixte announced his decision to forgo his senior year at Stoughton High and transfer to a prep school in Maine to finish out his high school …

Calixte Explains Decision to Leave Stoughton High for Prep School

Boys' basketball star Aaron Calixte informed his SHS basketball coach, John Gallivan, that he will be transferring to Lee Academy in Maine. In a one-on-one interview, Calixte expressed faith in his now former teammates being able to succeed without him.

Stoughton High coach John Gallivan told Stoughton Patch on Sunday that Calixte will be transferring to Lee Academy, a prep school in rural Maine. …

Basketball Star Calixte Not Returning to Stoughton High; Tells Coach He Will Attend Private School

Aaron Calixte informed his SHS basketball coach, John Gallivan, that he will be forgoing his senior year at Stoughton to attend Lee Academy in Maine.

In last winter's opening round state tournament contest, junior Aaron Calixte scored 13 of his game high 31 points in the fourth quarter helping the fourth-seeded Stoughton High boys' basketball team pull off a late game comeback against #13 Duxbury, 69-63, before an overflow crowd at the Stoughton High gymnasium. Barring a last-minute change of mind, it turns out that was Calixte's last home game at Stoughton High. Calixte, set to start his senior year at SHS in September, will instead attend Lee Academy in Maine in 2012-2013, Stoughton High boys' basketball head coach John Gallivan told Stoughton Patch. Even without the benefit of a four-year career in Stoughton, Calixte, a guard, will go down as one of the best players to ever suit up …
