Hockomock Football Recap: Division Champs Crowned; Teams Look Ahead to Thanksgiving

A recap of Week 10 football action in the Hockomock League.

Turns out Thanksgiving football in the Hockomock League will just be for pride and bragging rights this year - both of the league's playoff berths were sewn up by the end of week 10. Mansfield (7-3), a perennial playoff threat, clinched the Hockomock League's Kelly-Rex (large schools) Division with a 28-21 win against visiting Franklin this past Saturday evening. Sharon and Foxborough play Nov. 10. With Mansfield and Franklin both losing in week 8…

But after a crazy Saturday of Hockomock League football, filled with upsets and shootouts, new favorites have emerged. Canton had a week 7 bye, but all the other teams had division games, which meant all games had direct playoff implications. The division winners from the Davenport and Kelly-Rex advance to the postseason. In the Davenport, Stoughton fell at Sharon, 16-14, after Sean Asnes scored the game-winning touchdown with 11 seconds left. The win put Sharon in the Davenport driver's seat with a perfect 2-0 record. Stoughton is 1-1. Foxborough, meanwhile …
