Parsons was the chairman of the Stoughton Fourth of July Committee for 30 years. He passed away in May of 2012 at the age of 60.
Stoughton's fireworks show on Tuesday on the eve of the July 4th holiday will have an added significance this year. Joe Mokrisky, who is Chairman of the Stoughton Community Events Committee, said the show will be dedicated to the memory of the late Bob Parsons. Parsons, who had served as chairman of the Stoughton Fourth of July Committee for 30 years until 2006, passed away May 24, 2012 at the age of 60. Parsons, a 1969 Stoughton High graduate and veteran of the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era, was an active volunteer in town. Thank you so much to everyone involved in dedicating tonights fire works to my brother Bob Parsons...He really would have been proud of that. I live in Arizona now but being home to lay Bob to rest, was incredible.
