Paul, a freshman at Boston University, finished sixth overall in the 500-meter event at the New England Championships for track and field, held Feb 22-23.
Former Black Knights track star Jade Paul, a 2012 graduate of Stoughton High, is already making her mark on the Boston University women's track and field team in her freshman season. Paul finished in sixth place in the 500-meter dash at the New England Championships, held Feb. 22-23 at BU. She recorded a personal best in the preliminaries, finishing in 1:14.45, which was third in her heat. In the finals, Paul finished in 1:15.32, which was sixth overall. Paul has qualified for this weekend's ECAC Championships, which will also be held at BU. According to the BU athletics website, Paul "made her collegiate debut in the 500-meter dash (1:17.61) and as a member of the 4x400-meter relay team (3:54.82) at the Collegiate Invitational on Feb. 2…

While Stoughton High senior Jade Paul will graduate on Thursday, June 7, her performance at Tuesday's All-State Outdoor Track Championships allows her to continue her remarkable cross country/track career beyond Commencement. Paul ran a 2:16.98 in the 800-meters at the All-State meet, held June 5 at Fitchburg State College, her coach Bob Clarke said. The time was good for fourth overall. The week before, Paul broke her own school record in the event, running the 800 in 2:14.78, finishing in second place at the Division 2 Championships at Whitman-Hanson Regional High School. Now Paul will compete in the New England Championships held in Saco, Maine on Saturday, June 9.

Stoughton High’s Jade Paul added another chapter to a successful senior season, finishing in 10th place in the girls’ 600-meter run at the New England Indoor Track championships, held Friday at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston. Paul finished in 1:37.94, turning in the fourth-best time by a Massachusetts runner. This winter season started off slow for Paul, as she recovered from injury, but when she recovered, she quickly returned to top-form. “Jade has had a long season after recovering from a concussion. She missed the first two meets, then had to work extra hard to get into racing shape,” coach Bob Clarke wrote in an email. “Along the way she set a new school record in the 600 of 1:35.95. At the 2011 MIAA Indoor Track All-State championships, Stoughton High’s Jade Paul set a personal best in the 600-meter event, finishing in 1:36.06, a new school record. This year Paul eclipsed that mark, finishing the 2012 All-State 600-meter race in 1:36.01, just off her new personal best and school record time of 1:35.90, set at the Division 2 MIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships on February 16. Paul’s time of 1:36.01 at Sunday’s All-State meet, held at the Reggie Lewis Center, was tops in her heat and was good for sixth overall. A few tenths of a second is all that separated Stoughton’s Jade Paul and Natick’s Laurie Femmel in the girls’ 600-meter event at Thursday’s Division 2 MIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. Femmel edged out Paul, winning the event, finishing in 1:35.60. Paul, who came in second, finished in 1:35.90, breaking her own school record in the 600-meters (1:36.06). Paul moves on to the All-State meet on February 26, and is qualified to compete at the national meet in New York this April, coach Bob Clarke said.
