Stoughton Auto Body contributed the following release: Leandra Andrade, a sixth grader at the O’Donnell Middle School, visited with Tina Millman from Stoughton Auto Body to pickup items donated by the company to assist in her fundraising efforts for the Evelyn House, a family homeless shelter in Stoughton. Millman learned of the 6th grader’s good deed and offered to purchase much-needed items such as towels, blankets, pillows and personal care items. A fundraising dinner will be held for the Evelyn House on October 15, at 6 p.m. at Club Luis de Camoes to help with the cause. Stoughton Auto Body is located at 1069 Washington St.

Leandra Andrade, a sixth grader at the O’Donnell Middle School, is fundraising to purchase items for the Evelyn House, a family homeless shelter in Stoughton. There is a fundraising dinner to help the cause on October 15, at 6 p.m. at Club Luis de Camoes.
Jorge Cortizo, the general manager of the Stoughton Target, said he gets 10 to 15 requests a week from different organizations looking for donations, but there was something about a letter that an 11-year-old Stoughton girl sent that resonated with him. Leandra Andrade, a sixth grader at the O’Donnell Middle School, sent a letter to members of the business community at the end of August asking for their assistance in collecting items and fundraising for the Evelyn House, a family homeless shelter right here in Stoughton. After watching a documentary about homelessness last winter, Andrade decided she wanted to do something about it.
