Stoughton High Football Coach Greg Burke is the Association of Independent Football Officials 2012 Coach of the Year, recognized for his team's success on the field and for treating game officials with "the utmost respect and professionalism."
Crediting Stoughton High football coach Greg Burke and his coaching staff for "always [producing] a competitive program" and for treating game officials with "the utmost respect and professionalism," Burke has been named the 2012 Coach of the Year by the Association of Independent Football Officials. "Our officials have communicated to us what a pleasure it is to officiate interscholastic contests at Stoughton High School," states a letter from Association of Independent Football Officials secretary Robert Denise to SHS Principal Julie Miller. Burke was honored at the Association's banquet, Wednesday evening, Nov. 14 at the Braintree Moose Club in Braintree. Burke's team is 9-1 this season, currently tied for the best overall mark in the …

FLAGS, FUN & FOUR SCHOLARSHIPS! The Second Annual Black Knights Alumni Flag Football Tournament (played on Saturday) and Dinner (Saturday early evening) accomplished what it set out to do. Stoughton High Head Football Coach Greg Burke told About Town the event would support four scholarships for graduating seniors. "It's great to have all the kids come back, have some fun, and raise some money. Three football players and a cheerleader will get $400 scholarships because of this event. I wish it could be more. Maybe next year we'll get the word out better, and raise more money." Patriots and Pro Football Hall of Fame linebacker Andre Tippett, the team’s executive director of community affairs, visited Stoughton High football coach Greg Burke and his team Tuesday afternoon at SHS to present Burke with this week’s New England Patriots High School Coach of the Week award. The honor is in recognition of Stoughton upsetting defending Division 2 Super Bowl Champion Mansfield last Friday, Sept. 24 on the road. Burke guided his team to an 8-0 win, snapping Mansfield’s 14-game winning streak.
