Owl Rescued at Cedar Hill Golf Course in Stoughton Stoughton Police, with the help of some volunteers, rescued an owl stuck in netting at the Cedar Hill Golf Course on Park St. in Stoughton on March 30. Police received a call reporting the incident at 9:18 a.m., less than two hours before the start of the Stoughton Community Events Committee's Annual Easter Egg Hunt, which was set to take place at Cedar Hill. A two-alarm fire ripped through a garage on Bay Road in Easton Monday afternoon. The Stoughton Fire Department provided mutual aid.
A two-alarm fire caused extensive damage to a garage and house on Bay Road in Easton Monday afternoon. The Stoughton Fire Department was one of four area departments to assist Easton Fire crews in fighting the blaze. Thanks in part to two good Samaritans, though, nobody was injured. Easton Fire Chief Kevin Partridge said Easton residents Mike Boyd and Bob Cummings were driving by 331 Bay Road when they saw the entire garage of the house engulfed in flames. Resident Robert Thorton was outside calling to his wife Anthea, who was inside the house. She wasn't hearing him and was unaware of the fire to the adjacent garage. The Stoughton Fire Department responded to a two-alarm garage fire on Wales Ave. in Stoughton Friday morning.
The Stoughton Fire Department was on scene of a large garage fire at 21 Wales Ave. (side street off Plain St.) Friday morning. The call for the fire came in at 10:22 a.m. on Jan. 11. The two-alarm fire caused extensive damage to the garage, which is not attached to the nearby home. Captain Scott Breen of the SFD said the garage is considered to be a total loss. No vehicles were parked in the garage, but personal property was stored there, Breen said. One firefighter was treated for a knee injury, but otherwise there were no other medical issues, Breen said. Flames rose high above the garage and when the fire was knocked down, heavy smoke continued to billow. Fire crews did not leave the scene until 1:25 p.m., three hours after arriving, …
