BOTTLENECK STUDY OF ROUTE 138 CORRIDOR: Ray Guarino, Transportation Planner for the Old Colony Planning Council (OCPC), informed Stoughton Chamber of Commerce members at their June meeting of the OCPC's current analysis of the Route 138 Bottleneck Study, which covers Washington St. from Brock Street to the Canton town line. He told the crowd, "We advocate for the communities. We try to get them funding for transportation studies, as well as traffic signals. We're waiting to hear from the Town of Stoughton to gain a consensus on different projects. For instance, traffic signals at York and Washington Streets. Does the town want signals there? We can help them obtain funds."   As for bottlenecks and accidents, some Stoughton intersections …

Stoughton Clergy Association Issues a Message of Thanks on Thanksgiving

The Stoughton Clergy Association held its Community Thanksgiving Service Tuesday night at Faith Baptist Church.

For the Stoughton Clergy Association, their annual Stoughton Community Thanksgiving Service is a time to share fellowship and remember the meaning of the holiday. It's also a time to remember those who came before us and to give thanks for all we have. "Gratitude for being itself was one of the first religious responses to human existence," said Rev. Jeffrey B. Symynkywicz of the First Parish Universalist Church, whose entire semon can be read on his blog. "Our ancestors, ancient and not-so-ancient, lived close to the earth; their existence was marginal, at best. They were glad just to be alive. Because they knew, so intimately, the very fragility of their lives, our ancestors felt so close to their God, to the powers of life and death …
