Stoughton Police Make Arrests for Drug Possession, Drunk Driving and Shoplifting

Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. *** Drug Arrest Stoughton Police arrested a 23-year-old from Avon following a motor vehicle stop on Faxon St. at 11:02 a.m. Dec. 14. Christopher Keller is charged with possession of a Class B drug; failure to stop for a police officer while operating a motor vehicle; operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license; and providing a false name/address to an officer. *** Drunk Driving Arrest Thomas Dickerson, 55, of Braintree, was arrested following a motor vehicle stop at 11:29 p.m. on Dec. 20 at the intersection of Central St. and Washington St. Dickerson is charged with operating under the influence of …

Another Undetonated Firework Found During Sweep of Stoughton High Baseball Field

The Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad detonated the firework Wednesday afternoon. This comes a day after an undetonated firework exploded when a landscaper went over it with a lawnmower when cutting the grass in left center field.

Article originally posted at 3:25 p.m. and updated at 5:40 p.m. Another undetonated firework was found during a Wednesday afternoon sweep of the Stoughton High School baseball field, Stoughton Fire Chief Mark Dolloff said. This comes a day after an undetonated firework exploded when a landscaper went over it with a lawnmower when cutting the grass in left center field of the Anthony Novello baseball field. There were luckily no injuries in Tuesday's incident. The undetonated firework found on July 11 was also in left field, in close proximity to the one which caused the small explosion on July 10. Firework Explosion Causes Scare at Stoughton High Baseball Field

A lawnmower went over an unexploded firework in the outfield of the Anthony Novello baseball field at Stoughton High Tuesday morning, causing the firework to explode. There were no injuries.

A landscaper cutting the outfield grass of the Stoughton High baseball field endured a scare Tuesday, July 10 around 10 a.m. when his lawnmower went over an unexploded firework in left center field, causing the firework to explode, fire officials said. There were no injuries, however, although the explosion could be heard from Stoughton High School, according to Nicholas Viveiros, a foreman for Green Acres Scenic View Landscaping, who was on scene when the incident took place. The Stoughton Fire and Police Departments as well as the State Fire Marshal's Office responded to the scene. It is unclear how long this unexploded firework was on the Anthony Novello baseball field, and if it was a homemade firework or a an official one. The …

Take a look at the media gallery for highlights from Tuesday night’s fireworks show (including a video of the finale). Hundreds of spectators of all ages gathered on the Stoughton High athletic fields and around the SHS track to watch the impressive fireworks display. The show, organized by the Stoughton Community events Committee, started a little after 9:30 p.m. and lasted about a half-hour. A donation from IKEA-Stoughton helps to fund Stoughton's 4th of July activities. Prior to the start of the show, one shell went off in memory of Bob Parsons, who passed away on May 24 of this year at the age of 60. Stoughton's 2012 4th of July Itinerary

Stoughton will be celebrating the Fourth of July this year with a carnival, concert, fireworks show and parade.

As has become tradition, Stoughton will be celebrating the 4th of July in style, starting the evening of July 3 with a carnival, concert and fireworks show, and continuing on July 4th with the annual parade. The activities are coordinated by the Stoughton Community Events Committee. Stoughton's 4th of July Fireworks Show to be Dedicated to the Late Bob Parsons

Parsons was the chairman of the Stoughton Fourth of July Committee for 30 years. He passed away in May of 2012 at the age of 60.

Stoughton's fireworks show on Tuesday on the eve of the July 4th holiday will have an added significance this year. Joe Mokrisky, who is Chairman of the Stoughton Community Events Committee, said the show will be dedicated to the memory of the late Bob Parsons. Parsons, who had served as chairman of the Stoughton Fourth of July Committee for 30 years until 2006, passed away May 24, 2012 at the age of 60. Parsons, a 1969 Stoughton High graduate and veteran of the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era, was an active volunteer in town. In addition to his time running the July 4th activities, he also sat on the Stoughton Fire Station Sub-Committee; he was a Precinct 1 Town Meeting Representative for many years; was a member of the Stoughton …
