Stoughton Middle School Hockey Program Sharpening Skates for Another Season on the Ice

Stoughton's Middle School Hockey Program announces tryouts in advance of 2012-2013 season.

The following is submitted to Stoughton Patch: Tryouts for Stoughton's Middle School Hockey Team will be 3:30 to 4:50 p.m. August 20 and 27 at the Asiaf Rink at Brockton High School. Tryouts are open to all Stoughton middle school students entering the 6th, 7th or 8th grade in September. No positions are guaranteed to returning players. There is no charge for tryouts. This year the team will be playing in the Foxboro Sports Center, Middle School Hockey League. They will be playing in a B2 Division. All Divisions in Middle School are no check (no check does not mean no contact, however). The league will start the weekend of September 7. Most of the season the team will have Friday night games, however there will be occasional games on …

GUNS & HOSES: March 24 at 5:20 p.m., The Stoughton Fire and Police Departments are set to face off in the Sixth Annual Guns N’ Hoses Benefit Hockey Game.  The two teams will meet at the Asiaf Rink, Brockton High School, where the Fire Dept. hopes to defend the victory they earned a year ago.  In February, the two teams faced each other to raise money for the Fisher House. In an evenly contested match the two teams were deadlocked at a goal a piece when the final seconds ticked off the clock.  This time the two departments will face off to raise money for Friends Of Stoughton Hockey (F.O.S.H.).  F.O.S.H. is a 501 (c) non-profit organization dedicated to helping young hockey players improve their hockey skills.
