MEMORIAL SQUARE DEDICATIONS ANNOUNCED: Stoughton Veteran's Agent Mike Pazyra announced last week that two World War II veterans will have Memorial Squares dedicated to them at ceremonies on Veterans Day, November 11, 2011.   Albert Anselm Jardin Memorial Square will be at Taxiera Road and School Street. A Navy Veteran, Second Class Petty Officer Jardin passed away on July 26, 2011. He earned the Philippine Liberation Medal with 2 Stars, The Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Medal with 8 Stars, a Presidential Unit Citation with 1 Star, an Air Crew Insignia with 3 Stars, an Air Medal with an Oak Leaf Cluster and 1 Gold Star, and the WWII Victory Medal. Mr. Jardin served as Commander of the Stoughton VFW Post, was a STOYAC basketball and softball coach…

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH: The speculation has ended.  The thunderous applause is over. Stoughton Human Resources Director Marty McNamara at Tuesday night's Selectmen's meeting announced the August 2011 winner of the coveted "Town Hall Employee of the Month." The winner is (drum roll)  Gloria Veale of the Assessors Department. She gets a reserved parking spot and a nifty (suitable for framing) certificate.  Gloria stepped up big time after Town Assessor Paula Keefe retired, and as the office manager, she kept the place moving forward. Joseph Gibbons, who gave a report on new growth in town Monday night, is the new Assessor. Congrats to all.
