Stoughton Fire Department Assists Putting Out Two-Alarm Fire on Bay Road in Easton

A two-alarm fire ripped through a garage on Bay Road in Easton Monday afternoon. The Stoughton Fire Department provided mutual aid.

A two-alarm fire caused extensive damage to a garage and house on Bay Road in Easton Monday afternoon. The Stoughton Fire Department was one of four area departments to assist Easton Fire crews in fighting the blaze.   Thanks in part to two good Samaritans, though, nobody was injured. Easton Fire Chief Kevin Partridge said Easton residents Mike Boyd and Bob Cummings were driving by 331 Bay Road when they saw the entire garage of the house engulfed in flames. Resident Robert Thorton was outside calling to his wife Anthea, who was inside the house. She wasn't hearing him and was unaware of the fire to the adjacent garage. Stoughton Police Investigating a Pair of Armed Robberies Stoughton Police are investigating a pair of armed robberies which took place at Fairy Tales Formals and Rite Aid last week. Police received a call at 3:11 p.m. March 14 reporting a robbery at Fairy Tales Formals, located at 761 Washington St. in the downtown. Police say a man walked into the store and stated that he had a gun, stole a few hundred dollars in cash, and then fled on foot. The day before, March 13, Stoughton Police responded to a robbery at Rite Aid at 638 Washington St. in Shaw's Plaza just before 7 p.m., where a suspect with a knife stole an undisclosed amount of pills from behind the pharmacy, before getting away in a stolen vehicle. Enrollment is starting soon for many summer camps. Here's a selection of summer camps nearby.

While it may be only March, it's never too early to start thinking about and planning for the summer. Here's a list of some summer camps in the area where the kids can enjoy their time off in July and August before heading back to school in September. Camp West Woods (Stoughton) Located at 808 West Street, Camp West Woods offers three summer programs: a day camp, an "Adventure Bound" program and a gymnastics camp. The day camp is divided into two 4-week sessions and is open to children starting at age 3 up until 10th grade. Stoughton Teen Arrested for Alleged Assault, Robbery in Easton

The alleged incident, which resulted in the arrests of a Stoughton teen and an Easton teen, occurred Monday near Frothingham Park in Easton.

Two teens, one from Stoughton, and the other from Easton, were arrested by Easton Police Monday after allegedly robbing and assaulting another teen. Michael Bunce-Grenon, 19, of Dennison Court in Stoughton was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and robbery. A 15-year-old Easton juvenile was arrested on the same charges. Police Chief Allen Krajcik said the incident occurred March 4 at approximately 4 p.m. near Frothingham Park in Easton. "Easton Police Officer Beverley McRoberts was on patrol when she was flagged down by a 15-year-old male who stated he had just been beaten and robbed at Frothingham Park in North Easton," Krajcik said.  "He stated that he was with a group of males at the park when he was attacked by …
