Alves, Green Lead Stoughton High Boys at Division 2 Indoor Track Championship
Brandon Alves finished seventh in the shot put event, while Nick Green finished 10th in the 2-mile at the Division 2 MIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships on February 16.
Stoughton High's Brandon Alves improved his distance in the shot put by more than four feet from the Hockomock League Championships to last Thursday’s Division 2 MIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center. As a result, Alves finished seventh in all of Division 2, and qualified for the All-State meet on February 26, coach Harvey Blonder said. Alves’ distance of 47’9” at the Division 2 championships was the second best output of his career. Alves finished fifth at the Hockomock Championship with a distance of 43’7”.
