EEE Detected Nearby The following is adapted from a Department of Public Health Press Release: The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) announced in a press release on Wednesday that Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) has been detected in mosquitoes in neighboring Easton, marking the first time this year that EEE has been detected in Massachusetts. Two of the four positive mosquito samples are in a mammal-biting kind of mosquito, a point of particular concern to health officials, the release states. With these findings, DPH officials are raising the threat of mosquito-borne illness in the towns of Easton…

Summer Field Trip Program Stoughton Youth Resources offers weekly summer field trips to Stoughton youth, ages 10 and up. This year the group is going to the Mystic Aquarium, the Pawtucket Red Sox, the beach, a Fenway Tour, a whale watch, Patriots Training Camp and George’s Island. Each participant is guaranteed to attend at least four of the trips, sometimes more, depending on whether or not advanced tickets have to be purchased. The first trip is scheduled for July 11.
